Laura James is a visual artist based in Watford, Hertfordshire. Laura's artistic practice revolves around creating expressive and emotive terrains that traverse the relationship between our inner and outer worlds.
Laura's paintings are often described as having an enchanting presence; drawing the viewer in for a moment of deep reflection and discovery. With a dreamlike colour palette and strong textural feel across all her work, the paintings embody a special energy that appears to radiate through the paper.
In addition to her painting practice, she is a DBS-checked workshop facilitator specialising in hosting sessions that evoke 'freestyle' creativity in children and adults alike, primarily through the exploration of abstract art and various collage mediums.
A born-and-bred Lincolnshire “yellow belly”; Laura upped sticks to Watford over 10 years ago where she still lives today. Laura graduated from Central Saint Martins with a First Class Honours degree in 2015.
Laura's aim is to create works and experiences that intrigue and connect on a deep soul level.
